Just wanted to let everyone know we are back from vacation and have hit the ground running. We’ve been busy with seniors, weddings, and Drew’s first birthday - not to mention the bags that still need to be unpacked. We’re still walking around with sand in our shoes.
As soon as we catch our breath from it all, we’ll post more, complete with pics.
Just a quick note to let you know we’ll be away from the computer from Saturday, July 21st through Thursday, July 26th. Feel free to email us and we’ll get back to you just as soon as we return. If you need to contact us, we’ll have our cell phone with us 541.325.1070. Thanks! Scroll down for some new posts, I was updating the blog like a madwoman all day since we’ll be gone for a week.
More soon!

We just shot this wedding last weekend - a great, laid back, down home, country wedding! The scenery was beautiful, with Smith Rock right there in the back yard. Breathtaking. For added fun, our adventurous couple even wanted to go to the Crooked River Bridge.. the old one. Just walking on that thing makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up. I can’t imagine being on that bridge with a semi. Yikes. Gorgeous location. Great couple! Yet another fun weekend for us!
Thank you to Hannah and Justin and your welcoming group of friends and family - you all made us feel like one of the gang. Thanks for that!

There isn’t a lot I can say that the pictures won’t tell you. Jessica was SO fun to work with, she’s beautiful, funny, sweet - truly an amazing person inside and out. She’s gearing up for her senior year and has big plans for the future! Wherever you go, Jessica, we know you’ll go far. Thanks so much for the fun morning!

Tell me Lucy shouldn’t be a model for Baby Gap. You can’t. She is so adorable, it’s ridiculous. I may be biased, Lucy is our niece and we got to spend our vacation with her earlier this month. She and Drew are one month, one day, one hour and one minute apart. Not even kidding. Nevermind that Drew struck her on the head and knocked her over at one point. Sorry about that, Lucy. He’s just a boy. We’ll try and get that under control before our next visit.
On with Lucy Grace… you know the deal - click the picture to view her slideshow…

2008 is going to be a great year- I love when you can tell already! Jennie and Aaron are planning a 4th of July wedding at the beautiful Sunriver - how can you go wrong with that combo!? Well, I was bummed to hear that Sunriver won’t allow even sparklers on their property. I realize that is for the best for fire season - but selfishly, that would have made for some awesome wedding photos… not to mention wedding day memories. How cool would it be to incorporate fireworks with “I do”? Very cool.
We met with these two in Portland a couple weeks ago and had way too much fun to consider this work. We walked around downtown Portland, chatted, had some good laughs, and even managed to snap some fun shots of Jennie and Aaron just being themselves. Aaron was even game for frolicking in the fountain. At one point we all just sat back and did some people watching in such a colorful city.

THANKS Jennie and Aaron - we had a great time and look forward to your big day!
Well, we’ve been back for a week and I’m just now facing the fact that I am no longer on vacation. I’ll post some pics of our fun time in a week or so. The number one priority is finishing up the processing on our last wedding (which we’re minutes from doing) so we can focus on tomorrow’s wedding.
Speaking of our next wedding - I can’t wait. This is the wedding we did with the Peak 104.1, the Bridal Survivor. I just have to say that I can’t think of a couple more deserving of what they won. They are both so kind and I know tomorrow will be a blast. We get to have just bride and groom shooting time for over an hour - that’s hard to come by on a wedding day. Fortunately Hannah and Justin are so organized, they’ve made it happen.
On with other news. Remember last year - when we were turning away weddings, I was sitting in my kid’s wading pool, it was nearly 100 degrees… and I was as huge as a bus. Those were the days before Drew was born. And now, here we are, nearly ONE year later and this little guy is almost walking. I can’t even believe it! So, in honor of Drew and his nearly 1st birthday, and in honor of surviving a year of parenthood with a little boy - we are having a little family part. I thought I’d post his invite for all to see. Just a little postcard I whipped up to send out.
As a sidenote, we do design postcards for lots of different things, wedding thank you notes, save the date cards, birth announcements, you name it.
Oh - AND on the blog agenda for next week:
- pictures from our trip to the Lake
- pictures from Jeremy and Jessica’s slideshow
- my new favorite picture from this year
- pictures from Aaron and Jennie’s engagement session in Portland
- some pictures, and maybe even a slideshow of adorable baby Lucy
There, now I’m committed to actually making at least some of those things happen in the world of my sad and neglected blog.
Now for Drew:

This is to all of those Portland brides looking for some great whitening before the big day. Dr. Canfield also can straighten your teeth with Invisaline (so you can still look pretty and get your teeth straightened) - veneers, basic dental care, just need a cleaning - this the place to go. Okay, I have to admit - it’s a personal plug. Clearly, we share the same last name, Dr. Canfield is my father-in-law. We religiously visit the dental chair at least twice a year and drive all the way to Portland from central Oregon. He’s that good!
Check out his site if you’re looking for a dentist in the Portland area: http://www.dalecanfield.com
Just a quick note to let everyone know we will be away ( I mean really away) for the next week. We’re off for a little family vacation! Usually we still have access to our computers and cell, but we’ll be out in the wild woods for this years getaway. If you email or call us between July 2nd and July 8th, just leave a message, we’ll get back to you the first part of next week.
Thanks!
Have I mentioned how much I love these two? Such an amazing couple! Their wedding was gorgeous, their families were awesome, the bridal party kept us laughing all day long, and the weather… perfect! We want to thank you guys for choosing us to capture your day. And to both of your families: Thank you so much for making us feel so welcome. What a wonderful group!
I’m really working on trying to be better about this blog world - much harder during busy season. Melaine and Kyle were married at the end of May, if that give you any idea how behind I am on the blog. Promise to post more soon!
